Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how Minesweeper.si ("we", "us", "the site") handles information when you visit and play. It applies to this website only and not to any third-party site you may reach from here.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address or any other identifying detail to play.
  • We do not collect payment information. There is nothing to buy.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Information stored in your browser

The game uses your browser's local storage to remember two things:

  • Your theme preference, so the site opens in light or dark mode the way you left it.
  • Your best times for each board size, so the records panel can show them.

This information never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes it permanently. We cannot recover it for you.

Server logs

Our web server records standard technical information for every request, including your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and a timestamp. This is used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults. It is not used to build a profile of you and is not sold.

Cookies and similar technologies

The game itself does not set cookies. Cookies and similar technologies may be set by the third-party services described below, which operate under their own privacy policies.

Advertising

This site is supported by advertising. If you are shown ads, they may be served by third-party advertising networks, including Google.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of personalised advertising from many third-party vendors at www.aboutads.info.
  • You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services by reading Google's own privacy documentation.

Where required by law, a consent banner will be shown before any non-essential advertising cookies are set, and your choice will be respected.

Analytics

If we use an analytics service, it is configured to collect aggregate information such as page views, referrers and approximate region. This is used to understand which pages are useful. Analytics data is not used to identify you personally.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not operate accounts and do not hold personal profiles, in most cases there is nothing on our side to access or delete. Requests relating to advertising or analytics data should be directed to the relevant third-party provider, or to us and we will pass them on.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, California or another jurisdiction with comparable laws, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Data security

The site is served over HTTPS. We keep the amount of data we handle to a minimum, which is the most effective protection available: information we never collect cannot be leaked.

Third-party links

Our guides and articles may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.

Children's privacy

This site is suitable for general audiences but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The revision date at the top of this page always shows the current version. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
